GIVING CONSTRUCTIVE AND EFFECTIVE FEDBACK

Feedback lets us know where we need to improve. The process of giving and receiving feedback is a powerful method of ensuring continuous improvement. Constructive Feedback is useful because it helps to encourage and maintain desired behaviors and also discourages unwanted behaviors.

Feedback is often misconstrued and it results in negative personal criticism. This is of little value because it  deflates people’s spirits and does not reflect real behavior.

There is a specific process to follow when giving feedback. When that process is internalized, it has the potential to positively transform the interpersonal relations between team leader and team members.

WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES:

  • Be specific in communicating desired and unwanted behaviors
  • Focus on the behavior and not the person
